Was this in use? Is it used today in Italy? Seven stars are already mentioned here as Theodor Herzl's Proposal (1896). The word in the middle is Zion spelled out fully.
Željko Heimer, 13 January 1998
I looked around for such an event and I couldn't find any trace that such Congress was held. However, following the hints of the date and area, I found out that on that date there was a Jewish Youth Congress that was held i Livorno. Early that year, also the Italian Zionist Federation was founded, also in Livorno. Therefore, the flag could be attributed to one of those events.
